Trisomy 16 and genetic testing

I went to my follow up appointment yesterday and found out that my miscarriage 3/13 was due to trisomy 16.  Did anyone else have testing done on the tissue from your MC (miscarriage) and also have trisomy 16 results?  The OB recommended going to see a genetic counselor but we're hesitant to go since a friend of mine that specializes in OB said it usually just bad luck.

For those of you who have gone to a geneticist, did you find it helpful? Trisomy 16 isn't something we are carriers for - it is more of a random thing.  DH and I are both healthy 30 year olds.  The doctor said it was probably just a fluke and probably won't happen again.  This is my 2nd miscarriage.
