birth control suggestions

My husband and I decided to take a break from TTC as I just got offered an amazing career opportunity and would like to focus on that for the next 2-3 years before having our baby. I didn’t do well on the pill (forgot the name) but would like to hear any suggestions. What birth control has worked best? Which ones should I avoid? I’ve thought of the copper IUD but many have told me not to get it as I haven’t had children yet. I plan on talking to my Dr. next week but would like to go in a bit informed. TIA!
