Is it okay for your landlord to comment on your amount of trash/waste?
Our landlord recently made a comment about our amount of waste. That we have a lot and that we should have less because the trash can is always filled over the top when the garbage trucks comes. The garbage truck comes every other week, you can choose to pay more to have it come every week, but he has chosen not to. We share our trash bins with two other families. He knows we have a son with a medical condition, which means we have a lot of single use plastic and this causes us to have a lot more trash than other families. We recycle everything, but obviously the plastic bin gets full very quickly due to this. I'm all for trying to minimize trash and the zero waste movement, and we're doing our best. But when you have a child with a medical condition, we can't opt out of all the plastics and sadly there aren't sustainable alternatives for the things he needs. I would applaud him for trying to make people more aware, but as we're in the position we're in I don't think it's okay. He definitely haven't forgotten about it because he always shows concern about our son. How would you feel?
