Are you getting a flu shot?

Question

Undecided on whether I will be getting the flu shot this year. I don't want anything to affect her while she's still developing inside of me. I kind of wanna get it since she's due in January. If it was me I would get it hands down, no questions asked but now that it's not just me anymore I'm confused.

I took an abnormal psychology class in college and learned that getting the flu in your second trimester can lead to the baby developing schizophrenia later in life. I got my flu shot yesterday. Better safe than sorry

I don't know if you've already made your choice, I see the latests posts were a few weeks ago.  But it's very important to get one while you're pregnant, if not especially because you're pregnant.  It creates a little immunity for the baby since it crosses the placenta, and the flu if caught by an infant, can lead to pneumonia and possibly death.  Also, if you were to catch the flu while pregnant, there are very few drugs they can give you or recommend to help you get over it.  And with your immune system compromised during pregnancy, we all have a higher chance of getting it and it leading to further health issues like bronchitis or pneumonia which could be very harmful for the baby and of course you.   So in short, yes x1000 I'm getting mine.  I hope you do too!

When you get immunizations during pregnancy it goes to theplacenta and helps protect them in the early months of their life. Which is good since they can't get the shot until they're 6mos old and they'll be born during cold and flu season. I am most definitely getting the flu shot, already got my Tdap.

I'd rather get it while pregnant than give it to my baby. It gives them a little immunity when they're born.
