Any advice would help!
Long post ahead in order to give the background story..
Since birth,my son has been very sensitive to my breast milk. He would cry, scrunch up his body in pain, break out on his face, have hives on his body, have bloody stools, and not sleep. At 11 days old, he had over 20 bowel movements in a day and two were filled with blood. We went to the ER and they told us it was from him growing so fast.
At 6.5 weeks we couldn’t handle continuously seeing him like this so we thought to get him off of breast milk and try a formula. We tried a similac stomach sensitivity one and some other kind by similac. He never had acid reflux but after trying these he would throw it all up. We switched to nutrimagen hypoallergenic formula. He hasn’t had blood in stools, able to sleep more, and doesn’t look like he’s in pain, however he does still have quite a rash on his face. He is currently 4 months old. His daycare provider keeps telling us that she feels he is still allergic to something in the formula and to try and get a special formula shipped from Germany. My husband read some articles and tried Baby’s Only Organic Lactose formula for a couple of days. Grayson was continually itching and scratching his head, scrunching his body, and not sleeping as often, so we’re going back to the hypoallergenic.
We don’t want to keep switching it up and having him go through these reactions, but does anyone have any recommendations on what to try next?
