Things that you can't eat with silverware

What are some things that you just can't eat with a fork? The other day my boyfriend was eating an apple with a fork. Who does that? He was literally cutting the apple with a knife and eating the pieces with a fork. You can't eat fruit with a fork. That's just wrong. If it's fruit that is in a cup, and the fruit has sprinkles or something on it then maybe you can eat it with a plastic fork. Metal forks just make the fruit taste weird.
