OMGSH I am going through this right now but with my father in law! Luckily my daughter is still small and doesn't know what's going on but I HATE it when I hear my FIL go off on my hubby. ( long story short, we're staying with the in laws till Feb 1st when we move into our new place.)

I would calmly but firmly let her know thats not okay and not to let it happen again. The next time ..i wont be that nice. I wouldnt let my mother or family talk down to him. His family is no different.
