Wear sunscreen!

So I had a small bump beside my nose for somewhere close to10 years. I at first thought it was a pimple but it never went away. I had mentioned it to my family doctor during a visit and he didn't seem too concerned.. said he could remove it but I'd have a scar there anyway so I opted to just leave it alone. As the years went by it started to get bigger. There was a small indent in the center of it and I could see small blood vessels around it. It didn't hurt, but it would crust over occasionally and then bleed and scab over. I decided to do some research online (which is generally a horrible idea.. but I found that it looked like a basal cell carcinoma). I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and told him what I thought to get his opinion. He said it definitely looked like a bcc and that he would do the surgery to remove it. I just got the results back yesterday and it was confirmed that the lesion was cancerous. I have a follow up appointment in a couple of weeks to see if they got it all. Just putting it out there for others to remind you to check up on things that seem unusual, and to protect your skin from the sun! This is typically a skin cancer found in men over the age of 55.. I'm a 32 year old woman... It thankfully isn't a very serious or invasive type of cancer, but scary nonetheless. Take care out there!
