What was your birth experience like? Who was there? What do you recommend?

Everyone's birth experience will be different. Try to go into things with an open mind and be prepared for things to change. Things could go too fast to even consider an epidural or have everyone you want there. You may be open to several people being part of the experience now but not feeling it when things are actually happening. My experience was not normal. 68 hours of labour after being induced, got an epidural but it only worked on one side for majority of the time due to how I ended up being positioned for them to be able to monitor my babies heart. Pushed about 20 minutes, then ended up with a full episiotamy (however it's spelled) and forcep delivery as baby was positioned wrong and in distress. I was very thankful that just my husband and Doula were there because when things started going wrong there was a whole lot of nurses and doctors that showed up and having any extra people there would have been stressful and it would not have been a pleasant experience for them.

My first born I was in labor for 8 hours and had an epidural my second born was all natural and I was in labor with her for about an hour and 40 minutes. The pain with my second was excruciating and the ring of fire is a whole different level of pain but it was 100% worth it and I would chose having a natural birth over a medicated one any day.

30 hours of labor, 4 hours of pushing. Baby was stuck and went into the canal at an angle so couldn’t get out ending up in a csection.

First time labor, 5 hours of active labor, epidural at 7 cm, no pushing the resident held my son in while the doctor put on her gloves quick.

I had an emergency C-section. Went to the hospital with my now husband, my mother and sister. By the time I got out of OR and woke up from the anesthesia, my trip had been joined by my dad, step mom, grandparents and my father in law. Nobody got to see the C-section. Obviously mine is not a typical case so j can't give any insight
