Is it true that birth control doesn't work well if you're fat?

Okay so. My boyfriend and I have been going out a while and he wants to have sex without a condom for the first time. I'm all for it, especially since I'm on birth control. Seasonique to be exact.

But to make sure we are at least 99% good with perfect use, I read that people over the BMI of 30 have a higher risk of oral contraceptives not working correctly. That's not good! Lol My BMI is much higher than that! I researched more and I'm getting mixed reviews. Some say there was no correlation and others say wrap your whole body up with plastic wrap just to be safe haha. I'm confused tbh. Any thoughts, advice, or experiences would be appreciated! Thanks!
