Americans shit at tipping?

Question

So had a group of 13 Americans in at our pub. Did table service. We don’t do table service but did today. On a £150+ tab we got tipped 45p. 45 pence. I’m not normally arsed but I ran up and down 3 flights of stairs WHEN WE DONT DO TABLE SERVICE BUT THEY INSISTED BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT TO GO UP AND DOWN STAIRS FOR DRINKS only gave 45pence. Fuming😩

That’s probably because they knew that you guys don’t tip there. My husband is British and he gets mad when I tip.

I’m American I tip very well. But if I were to go to Europe or some other place then I wouldn’t tip. Why? Because I’ve been told they don’t do that there and some people find it rude.

That’s very unfortunate. As an American, I honestly would be hesitant to tip at all because I frequently see people saying tipping is not at all a thing in the UK. Cultural differences can be really difficult to figure out unfortunately.
