*Update* I would not spend ____ to save a pets life...

$7,000!!!!
This story had me thinking, there is definitely a limit to how much I'd spend to save a pet. I'm not rich, if I were, I'd spare no expense. But I always rescue dogs (we have 3) and I think everyone should be able to have a pet if they want to, especially if they are rescuing the animal from a shelter.
Do you agree? Sure unexpected costs are always possible, but I don't think that should keep people from the joy of having a pet.
Add on question- does the amount change if you have human children you're responsible for? At some point you're using money that could go to something more permanent...
***Update- this basically turned into a spot for everyone to brag about how much they've spent on pets. Gold stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 but my point of view is everyone should be able to experience the joy of having a pet, even if they don't have access to thousands of dollars in an emergency situation. There are so many shelter pets who just want a loving home.
