Your experience with stretch marks

Hi ftm here, i wanted to ask what everyone experience with stretch marks post delivery was.

Im 37 weeks and 3 days i have a very small baby and have gained just about 10 pounds this pregnancy so this far ive been lucky to not get stretch marks.

But ive heard from two friends that their whole pregnancy they didnt get any either till after delivery. Has anyone experienced this? And if so do you know why they appear after, i would think your belly goes down so the skin shouldnt stretch.

Also any tips you have for stretch marks are helpful, i may not have them on the bump but i do have them elsewhere lol
