Child support

Should I put my bd on child support, we aren’t on horrible terms but he is a deadbeat that hasn’t helped out with anything concerning the baby, and I just don’t want that to follow through after I have her. He doesn’t have a job and is getting no where in life ( however I just got laid off and tbh my life is shit too rn but I’m trying) he isn’t, and I don’t want to be forced to deal with this afterwards. If I don’t have anyway to make him grow tf up I’m hoping legalities will. Any advice?
