From national guard to active duty

Anyone transitioned or had their partner transition from reserves/national guard to active duty???

My partner has been national guard for almost 8 years and we’re seriously considering him transitioning to active duty once his contract is up soon. We have a son who’s almost 2 and I want to be able to stay at home with home mostly and not work full time. We also want a change in our lives. We know we will have to move and it’s kind of exciting knowing we could travel and see new places together. We’ve been through deployments and trainings, etc. so we know all about that part and it’s definitely hard but to us it’s worth it.

Just wondering how different it is for family life and how hard it is to actually transition?
