Can you guys give me feedback on my poem

Calm water

I was in the water

surviving

Living in calm waters

You came and helped me to shore

A small island

beautiful island

At first

We had warmth and love

We had laughter and no problems

We had food and clothes

We had

Oh we had

One day while you were away

I was attacked

I got attacked by the water

The waves

Oh the waves

Came in hot and heavy

I wasn’t ready for it

I didn’t know how to handle it

And I yelled your name

Oh I screamed your name

And to come back to the shore

I saw you controlled the wave

You did that to me

But why ?

Why me ?

Why hurt me when we love ?

Waves came again and again 1-2 times a month for 3 years

I finally got pushed away from the ocean

I’m in the water again

Not the calm waters I knew before

This water is something different

I sit in distress wondering where I went wrong

What did I do wrong

Why am I in pain

Why am I

Why am I

In pain for days

starving for days

Crying for days

They become weeks

I said enough

I can’t any longer

Right before I wiped my tears another huge wave came

But this was something different

Broken pieces of wood was in the water

I learned to cope

I learned to build

I learned to get back

I did

Alone

Once I made it stable enough I got on top

Finally a piece of relaxation

I kept going

Building

making a boat

waters get calm once again

Then you come

again

With a yacht telling me to come on

Passing me the life persevere

I want to grab it but every time I reach you pull it back

You keep throwing it to me and pulling it back

Why

Why me

Again

Finally I grab it but I stop for a minute to think

Do I get off this piece of wood

Back into the calm water

To go with you on this yacht

To go back to that island

Do I need that island to survive ?

Do I need your help?

Do I need this ?

Do I ?

Do I ?

Do I need YOU ?!

I let go

you don’t leave

While I make the waters calm once again

While I make my own boat out of this wood

You stay

You want me

But I want me

I deserve my water

I deserve my boat

I deserve happiness

I deserve me
