Would you change your views if?

This question is for all my pro-choicers and any pro-lifers who may be looking around. my question to you is what if you have a daughter from the age range of I don't know let's say 12 to 16 and she comes to you and tells you that she's pregnant now would you change your viewpoint if it were your own child?

I don't understand how this could possibly sway a pro-choice person to pro-life. If anything, I'd think it would be the other way. A kid has no business having kids. It would take away so much potential for happiness and success. I think pro-lifers who encourage kids to go through with pregnancies and motherhood are irresponsible and don't truly care about her life.

Being pro choice doesn't mean anyone HAS to choose abortion. It just means that every woman has options. I'd ask my daughter what she wanted to do, and I'd make sure she was informed on all 3 options (parenting, adoption, abortion) before she made her decision.

I have the aching suspicion that pro life people voted on this...

On that note, I am pro choice. That does not mean that I will be making the decision for anyone about their body. That DOES mean that they, as the owner of their body, will do what they want when it comes to reproductive health. That would not change with my child. I'd be one lame mother if I forced my kid to give birth.

Being pro choice isn't about the decisions I would make - it's about my right, and every woman's right, to make the decisions.  I can't imagine anything that would make me change my view on this.

As for what I would do if my teen daughter was pregnant - I would make sure she got good quality information about all the options available and then let her choose.  I would support her and her choice.

Nope, I'd ask them what they wanted to do. Then get enthusiastic about it, OR if they are having trouble I'd lay out the 3 basic options, and have her come with me to an OB for more information. Then give her a few days to think about it.

Then whatever her decision was I'd be enthusiastic and proud of her for making her own choice.

I had an abortion at 17, and wasn't forced I was coerced in some ways but in the end it was my decision. I am prochoice and always will be. My wife and I discussed this matter the other day. She is prolife mind you. She knows about my past she knows everything about me actually anyways I would want to lay out the three options and have her choose but my wife feels like she should make our diaghter have the baby (currently pregnant with our first daughter btw this is future talk) I know where my wife is coming from I do, and many young girls do want to keep there child I did at first! I just hope we don't have to cross this bridge...
