Help!!!

I’m in a relationship with a guy who has kids and he gets them every other week/weekends there are times where i don’t hear from him or he’ll leave me on read I’ve had something like this in my last relationship and I’m just tired of it he doesn’t notice anything he doesn’t notice when I’m sad or having an depressive episode is this what’s it like being with someone who has kids?
