Anyone else HATE flowers?!

I absolutely hate flowers. A gift that I have to keep alive? No thank you, I'll take some snacks please.
UPDATE: so happy to hear I'm not the only one who feels this way! Another reason I dont enjoy flowers is because my cats try to eat the petals. They are obviously pretty to look at, but I'd rather not have them taking up space in my house. I would never reject them or act ungrateful if I got them though.

I told my husband I hate flowers because they die and I can’t enjoy them for long. So he started buying me cactuses (or is it cacti? Lol)

I don't like flowers either i prefer something I can use. Buy me a tool or a new dress or nail polish or a set of holiday aprons or a new pan or a knick knack or a book or if you MUST buy me a plant buy herbs that i can use in food or a decorative fake plant. Don't buy flowers that will die in a week or 2. I like roses but I want them on a rose bush not in a glass jar where they have no chance of thriving. 
Now that being said if he or anyone does buy flowers I will be appreciative and I'll keep my annoyance to myself.

Well, cut flowers you don't have to keep alive. That's a fools errand anyway because you can't keep them alive..
Only potted flowers.
I just trim them, stick them in a vase with the packet of preserver that comes with them, and when they die, they die.

Yep i told my husband when we were dating. An occasional thing of flowers is ok if he wants but don't feel like it is expected or desired.  Unless they are wild flowers pick from some dich or field.  I have never understood wasting hard earned money on something that will just die.
