To be induced or not?

My husband is a truck driver. He drives to South Carolina and back every night. My dr gave me the option to be induced after 39 weeks (37 currently). This is my second baby, I didn’t have the option to go to 40 weeks last time. I was in labor for two days with my induction before having my son. I don’t want this delivery to be as bad as last time but I don’t want to risk going into labor with my husband gone.

I was induced with my 1st. My second came completely natural, and birth was completely unmedicated. I’ve had 3 other the same. I’d take completely natural and unmedicated over induced and medicated any day! Less painful, less drowsy, less stressful, and far shorter labor. Mind you, my husbands job doesn’t guarantee his presence. I like him there and he likes to be there, but it is what it is. I’d rather have a calm, focused labor for baby and me.

I'm in the same situation. I live in new England and my husband drives to New York every night. I would rather be induced to make sure hes there then risk him missing his baby girl come into the world. You never know how fast a labor will go or not. I'm just praying it works out the way we want. Good luck mama!

My dads a truck driver and missed 2 births out of six from us kids. On was me. I know he would’ve loved to be there!
