Start to finish 9:30pm till 11:23pm August 26th. DD August 31st. ((Labor Story))

Dylan Mae born Aug. 26th. Water broke a little after 9:30pm. I took a shower, had my sister in law French braid my hair. Left to the hospital with contractions every 3 1/2 mins. at 10:15.

Got upstairs into triage at 10:39pm. Was having so many back to back contractions (every 1 1/2-2 mins at most) my plan of not having an epidural was heading out the window very fast.

The contractions were soo powerful I felt like I had no control over my body. Then all of a sudden the contractions weren’t even a solid minute apart and I couldn’t catch my breath and then two where I felt the uncontrollable urge to push. My husband called the nurse and I said, “somethings happening- I feel like I have to push.” She looked at the monitor and ran to get help and told my husband to grab the other side of the bed and help her get me out of there. That was at 11:12 (from my husbands half finished text that said “Oh Shit!”

From that point everything was crazy..

They got me into a labor room and the midwife said the baby’s head is coming out. I didn’t even have an iv at the point. So my goal of not having an epidural happened. All I remember was the midwife and nurses and flashes of me looking at my husband. And then just telling me to not push with my face. Then she was out at 11:23pm. Weighing in at 7.4lbs and 20” long.

Oh and I totally pooped. My husband didn’t even know that had happened. I told him-“sure did!”
