Harmful to Use a Fetal Doppler Frequently?

Hi ladies. I’m 12+2 today and used a fetal doppler for the first time today. I found my baby’s heartbeat after a few minutes and it was absolutely amazing. I want to use it every day. However I’ve read things on the internet about how frequent usage can be harmful because it can warm up the tissues??? I will not use my doppler every day if this is the case but I was wondering if anyone else has ever heard this too? Thanks in advance.

There isn’t really enough testing/evidence done on this topic to come to a solid conclusion. I did read the same things you did, but confided in my midwife and she told me that a quick heartbeat check daily won’t hurt. That doesn’t mean sit there with the Doppler for 10 minutes though. I would simply lube up (aloe), find the heartbeat, instantly calm down and turn it off. It was a nightly ritual as it helped me sleep better to hear my boys heartbeat. The peace of mind outweighs any potential danger tbh. You do whatever you are comfortable with though, or ask your OB! I began around 15 weeks and continued throughout the rest of my 37 weeks.

I used it everyday up until 14-16 weeks and completely stopped when I started feeling movement.

When is your due date?? I’m 12w+3 days! I also use Doppler but not too much. I’m beyond terrified of doing the wrong thing or too much, so I rather be safe than sorry
