Why do people follow people on here ?

I just noticed that I have some people following me... what does that do? 
Do they see every time I post something or comment ? Kinda creepy 🤔 posting anonymous for obvious reasons
EDIT: fixed my typo, so nobody has tried to “chat” to my knowledge so that doesn’t really explain it

I think you mean anonymous and the follow feature means that someone is then able to chat request you that's all.... Nobody can see everytime you comment or post it doesn't work like that although if your settings make it so your activity is visible they can see that way but a lot of people just follow people because they've liked that person's views 🤷 No big deal
