My son is 5 months and he was trying to sit up, when he does it he usually rolls when he’s done. I went to grab something from the freezer ( I feel horrible and I should have taken him with me ) ugh I was just barely in the next room I feel like a horrible mom.

I heard him cry but I didn’t hear a hit or anything before he cried. I came back and saw him with his head like on the bottom shelf part of the coffee table. Not on a corner or anything. I picked him up consoled him and then noticed a couple red lines on his head. I checked to see if his pupils dilate and they have been, he hasn’t thrown up and hasn’t acted lethargic although it’s almost nap time. I haven’t noticed a bump on his head anywhere and that makes me nervous. I thought it was a good sign if there’s a bump after hitting your head on something because you want swelling going out not in.

My husband said he’s fine and isn’t showing any signs of something being wrong.

I’m just feeling like the worlds most horrible mom right now ugh!

In the picture you can kind of see the red line I’m talking about and he also has two more smaller ones on the side of his head that’s not pictured.

Today of course is his pediatricians day off and I want to avoid ER at all costs unless necessary. Do you think this would call for an urgent care visit?
