Do ovarian cysts hurt around your period?

I was recently told I had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary. It was causing me pain on and off but nothing major. The last few days though I have had such bad pain on the right side!!! My period is due in a few days and I’m wondering if that could be the cause of the pain?

I had mine for at least three months. One on each ovary. At first I was uncomfortable, constantly. Then, I was always in pain. The cysts are gone, but I’m still in total discomfort in between my periods.

I get them about every 4-5 months but mine tend to rupture and hurt so bad I have to go to the Er. I hope you’re dont.

I had one when I was pregnant with my daughter and I didn’t know it till her ultrasound. They just kept monitoring her, it eventually went away. She’s know old enough for her period has pcos and had one on her ovary and sometimes don’t get a period. They give her metformin to help regulate her period because I don’t want her on birth control when she’s not sexually active. ( she was having pain in her stomach with hers, that’s why we had her checked out)
