October baby is here in September!!

Chequitta • Wifey 💍, Mommy 💖💙 , 26 years old ♉️, Surgical Technologist! 😷🏥💉

I was 39 weeks and 2 days. Yesterday, September 26th I had an appointment at 11:00am. When the doctor checked me at 11:15am, he said I was completely closed and that I was about 50% effaced. After I left his office, I started having slight cramps which I brushed off as Braxton Hicks. My fiancée and I went to get something to eat and headed home.

At around 2pm, these “Braxton Hicks” intensified and began to come in a timely manner. I also began to have several bowel movements in that same hour. As I wiped myself, I noticed that I was having bloody show and decided to call the nurse at my doctors office. She told me to come in for a labor exam. When I got there at 4pm, the doctor immediately checked me and said I was already 3cm dilated and decided to just send me over to the hospital to have a baby!

I finally got into my room at around 5pm and got a bolus of Lactated Ringers. The on call doc from my office checked me at 8pm and said that I was still at 3cm. All the while the contractions are getting really bad and I decided to get some IV meds. I got 2 doses of Stadol. The first time it worked wonders but the second time, it didn’t do shit lol. So I opted for the epidural and it was placed by 11pm.

After I got the epidural, my contractions started to space out so they hooked me up to Pitocin around 12am. The doc came back and checked me at around 1:40am and said I was at 5cm and 80% effaced. She didn’t break my water though because babies head was still high, I had a higher amount of amniotic fluid and she didn’t want to accidentally get a prolapsed cord.

I finally was able to fall asleep after the nurse stopped coming into my room making noise 😑. At 6:15am, I was woken up because it felt like someone had punched me in the vagina 😂😂. It was my water breaking lol. Doc checked me again and said I was 6cm and 90% effaced.

About 30 minutes later I began to feel lots of pressure in my butt. I kept saying I felt like I had to poop but the nurse kept saying it was just babies head coming down. The pressure got worse and worse to the point where I felt like I was pushing. My new nurse came in and I told her I really really had to poop so she said she would check me. At 7:10am, I was fully dilated!! We started doing practice pushes at 7:30 and I was making good progress for a FTM with an epidural. At around 8:07 I could feel the pressure of babies head, almost close to crowning. She immediately told me to stop pushing and told them to get my doctor. She turns around to get something and I start to feel babies head sliding out but I’m trying to breathe through it and not push. All the while my fiancé is standing beside me like “nurse, nurse, her head is coming!!” 😂😂 She turns around just in time to catch the head as it comes out. She presses the button again for the front desk and yells, “I NEED ANY MD IN HERE RIGHT NOW!!” Suddenly 7 nurses and 3 doctors bursted into the room and started yelling for me to push! I pushed once and out came baby before any of the doctors got on gloves 😂. It was the most euphoric feeling ever when she came out. She came at 8:13am, weighing 7lbs and 14ozs. We are so in love with her!
