Period while on birth control question

So I’ve been taking birth control for about 6 moths now, this is the third month on a different kind that works better for me. I had a period with the new stuff then skipped the next one and now I’m waiting on my period. If I’m scheduled to normally have my period this week should I take the other pills with not hormones in them even if I don’t bleed or should I continue as normal and wait till I bleed? Last time i did that and it didn’t happen so I’m not sure what’s going on, please help
