Asking for advice for my pregnant and homeless sister
My sister is 32 weeks pregnant and has been living with us for a few months, fully depending on us for everything (food, bills paid, rides to anywhere she has to go, ect) . We cannot financially support her anymore or her baby when she’s born. I am also 28 weeks pregnant and have a 19 month old toddler and were living off of one paycheck. I can’t and won’t, just kick her out with no where to go, but we are behind on all of our bills and just simply can’t afford to house anyone other than us and our 2 children, plus we don’t have the room. We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and with our newborn coming, there is just no room. I feel terrible she has to sleep on the couch as it is. She doesn’t have a job, she has no family in the area other than me. She has no friends and her daughters father is out of the picture. I don’t know what to do. Is there any kind of program or housing that we can get her into? We are from CT. My bf has a lot of stress on his shoulders as he bears all the financial burden. Its putting ALOT of strain on our relationship, we are constantly fighting about it and it’s seriously is stressing me out so much.
I do have a job but it’s just a relief position at a group home, I can only pick up hours when people call out so I only make around $200-$400 every two weeks. I know I won’t be able to get another job at 28 weeks pregnant, and she won’t be able to get a job either because unfortunately, no one wants to hire a woman who is about to give birth. We are just so lost and don’t know what to do. I want her and my niece to be safe and cared for but we simply can’t do it anymore. Please help!
