Do I stay with him or leave him?

Question

So I met a guy, who is absolutely wonderful to my kids and I. 
He’s amazing but there is one issue.
He makes more money then I do. I am a single mom with two kids with a low paying job.
I have my own place. Pay my own bills and all that Jazz.
Well my boyfriend comes over and stays here about 4 days a week.
He gets here turns the air down to 73 degrees makes himself at home which I love but I can’t afford to feed him 4 nights a week and all my bills have basically doubled 
Long story short, I ended it with him and explained to him he makes more and I am barely making ends meat. I love him but I just can’t afford it anymore.
His response “it’s ok I understand”
I let him know I feel like he is looking for a woman that can take care of him and I just can’t. He said he wants a woman who is financially stable. And lives a comfortable life.
Did I read into this?? I told him I feel like he wants a sugar mama. Which I could not do nor afford.
We have so much fun together but I am so confused 😔
To add to my situation:::: trying to stay private. But I did mention I needed help but he told me he pays his roommate half the rent at his place. 
Keep in mind we’re on our 30’s
So I did ask, for bill help but didn’t receive

Why would you not ask for money towards bills if hes there more than half the wk and why would he not offer?

I would leave . He wants a women who is financially stable and he didn’t offer to help out because it sounds like he doesn’t want to if he did he would help out or at least with the good since he’s there 4 days out of the week .

Why didn't you ask him to help out and cover the increase in costs?
Why dump him and then tell him you think be wants a sugar momma? He likely didn't even know he was costing you that much
Communication is key, and it seems like you lack that ability. No relationship is going to work out unless you learn to aci communicate with your partner

You shouldn’t of even had to say anything about him helping out financially. He knows what he was doing and knows he should of been offering you help.

I dont think he is looking for a sugar mama, I just think he doesnt want to be financially responsible for another person. There is nothing wrong with that.  I wouldnt ask for help for the bills after the fact. You dont ask your friends who come over to pay part of the utilities they used.  If you cant afford to do something you need to be honest then ans there,  not after. Put him in charge of food half the time. If he wants a certain meal send him to the store for the ingredients.

Girl you have kids. If he was serious about you he would do more. He made it very clear what he wants and thats y he not budging. Youre not what he really wants. Youre a convience. A placeholder. And even so.... hes not supporting u in the way you need and desire. Dint overcomplicate this. Us women hv to learn to remove feelings and see it for what it is. Your kids deserve for u to be proactive and be wise about men. Its good u cut it off.
