Husband doesn’t care enough!

Need some help but mostly venting

I’m afraid that my husband just doesn’t care about being a parent...

He has 2 kids from a previous marriage, he is in the military so rarely sees them but he does talk to them regularly and is financially there. But I feel like he doesn’t parent them and it bothers me and makes me wonder how it’ll be when the time comes for us to have children. Some examples are that I was browsing through Netflix and the kids have an account as well, they are 7 and 11, and there were very inappropriate movies(sexual) under the continue watching tab. Asked husband if he was watching them and he said no so it must be the kids but he does no follow up to this. Then recently the 11 year old tells him her mother took her to watch Joker(which is very disturbing and inappropriate for children) and again he doesn’t care to talk to the mother about this. I feel as though he’s afraid or guilty for not being in their lives so he gives them whatever they ask for, but it seems that the mom doesn’t monitor the kids very well. These are just a couple examples of what has happened.

Anyway I know they aren’t my kids and I told my husband I’m not telling him what to do with them but should I care at all? Do I have any right to weigh in? His way of handling things just irks me like nothing is of importance. But kids that young shouldn’t be exposed to extreme violence and sex.

His oldest has had issues already at school threatening to bring a gun, it’s like no parenting is happening on either side!

I’ve worked with kids for years and grew up with foster children in my home and I know where this path could lead and I’m just trying to help 🤷🏽‍♀️ and I’m not pushy or anything like that just concerned when he tells me these things.

Should I just try to let it go? Any thoughts or similar situations?
