To have an elective induction... or not?

There’s always A TON of posts about inductions, especially elective ones.  I know some of you already watch some of her videos but I just watched Sarah Lavonnes video about the recent study regarding elective inductions at 39w.  So if you have questions about it or just want more info, it’s a good watch!  Very informative.  My doctors have mentioned this study too BUT it’s all about YOUR labor experience so head to YouTube to watch it if you want to 😁

Yes! The guy who ran the study is part of the university associated with my hospital (northwestern). Glad more ladies are finding out about this! It’s empowering to know our options and make the best decision for ourselves and babies. I will be having an elective 39 week induction.

The only reason i wouldn't induce is pain.  Labor is a b**** without adding pitocin on top. 
But medically I don't think it's a big deal if you choose to go down that path at 39 weeks (39 seems to be the common date on here, but whatever date chosen). It's not like you're going against drs orders,  they have to agree to have it administered.

Thanks for the info. As a very data driven person I'm always reading different studies and taking them into consideration. My doctor has always been pro elective inductions just because she knows how much the end of pregnancy can suck haha, so this backs up her claim that it's safe and healthy to do. I have actually been thinking about asking to be induced in between 39 and 40 weeks because of Thanksgiving being so close to my due date. What's holding me back is the extra cost and wanting to go into labor naturally since I was induced with my first.

My Dr hasn't talked about this study but she's agreed to induce me at 39 weeks for a few reasons. ( Big ones are I need a set date for my older kids since theyll go to the dads, and 2nd I labor really really fast and live a hour away from the hospital) if I go into labor before Induction I'll wing it 🤦😂 hopefully I dont
