I got a sweep at 40+2.midwife said i am 1-2cm dialated Has this worked for anyone and if so - how quickly?

I was 40+3 when I had my sweep, went on a 4 mile walk straight after, lost my mucus plug at 5pm then contractions started at 9pm. I was 2cm dilated

I had a sweep at 39+2 and it did work for me, I did lots of walking though which is what midwife said to do and I started having contractions the next day

I was already in labour but I think it helped speed things along

I had a sweep at 39+6 and my waters broke at 40+2 so I’m guessing it worked ❤️ Mine was done by consultant though not a midwife and I hear they’re more thorough 😖
