Clomid?

Question

Hi all, I am 31 and almost approaching one year of ttc baby #1 with no luck. I have had a few friends have success with clomid and I am just curious, how do you get it? Is this something I can just ask my ob for, or do I need a full fertility work up? I have already had 2 rounds of blood work (normal) and an ultra sound (normal). Feeling a little frustrated and uneducated on this whole process. Thanks.

After a year of trying and doing allllllll the tests, we just did our first round of clomid and it worked. But I suggest doing an hsg first and getting his sperm counted. Because those are more likely causes. But yea talk to your ob about it

clomid is given to those who don’t ovulate regularly on their own...so good idea to check everything else out because if you are ovulating on your own clomid isn’t going to change anything

I just got done with my first round of letrozole (it’s like Clomid) and I did all the blood work and ultrasound and they came back normal. But I was getting a period every other week and was testing for ovulation and not getting positives so I went to my ob and that’s when she had me do all the tests that came back normal, so she prescribed me letrozole so I can hopefully ovulate. Your next step would to test your ovulation and if you’re not getting positives, tell your ob and she should prescribe Clomid or letrozole

I start my first round of clomid next cycle, but before my dr prescribed it, I had to have an HSG done.
