When to change sleeping environment

Question

Since my son was born he usually slept on my chest, on the bed, or playpen next to the bed. But now daddy is saying it’s “that time” to transfer him to his own room in his crib. He’s 2 1/2 months now... I just feel It May be too early still... what you mama’s think???

Too early. They recommend 6 months for prevention of sids. You could put him in a next to me crib and transition him to sleeping next to you....but not on you for now as a good first step

It’s recommended by literally everyone that they be in the same room as you for the first 6 months to reduce the risk of SIDS. 
Not only that but if baby doesn’t sleep through your the one who has to drag your arse out of bed into that other room every single time!! Good luck but you could always let your lovely partner move into another room 😜

It’s recommended until six months, but it’s also recommended not to bedshare. 
Maybe compromise to have baby in pack and play but still in your room?

I transitioned all 3 of my boys to the own room and crib between 3-4 months.. I’d give it a few more weeks!.. I started with putting them in there cribs for nap times during the day first.. good luck!!♥️♥️

I moved my kids to a crib at about 1-1.5 months. As I had such a hard time sleeping while they were with me. There is a fan in their room to help with air circulation.

We transitioned our son at 2 months and I think he did better because of it. He started sleeping through the night once we transferred him. We have a Nanit baby monitor and that is the only reason I felt okay about it. It has a breathing band built in that monitors his breathing rates all night and if something was to go wrong, it notifies us with a screaming red alert. He was a very very loud sleeper too, so we both couldn’t sleep because of it. The transition helped us all tremendously.
