Dentist?

Anyone taken their LO to the dentist yet? I read that you’re supposed to by 1? 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you haven’t, when do you plan to take them by?

It may be uncommon, but we won’t be taking her until she’s 3. If we take her prior our dentist will only refer her to a pediatric dentist that is super expensive to do nothing more than he would.  She only has milk with meals, no juice and on the rare occasion she does it’s diluted in water heavily and again, only at meals. She’s gotten really good at brushing herself so once she can get the spitting concept down we will incorporate a non-fluoride toothpaste as well. Unless she has issues we’re waiting.

We took ours at 12.5 months and honestly I found it to be expensive and pretty pointless....basically said no bottles after 15mo and limit paci to sleep only. She was already off the bottle and paci was already just for sleep. They brushed her teeth, counted them did fluoride and gave me a tooth chart and made sure we brush her teeth at home. Was $200! 
Personally I do think dental hygiene is very important BUT I think waiting 18 months or 2 would have been the same outcome for us especially since she takes longer to get teeth and only had 3.

I took her to my last 2 appointments so she could meet them and watch me get my teeth cleaned. She hasn't been cleaned yet herself but we are practicing. 😊

We are planning to take him around 18 months but I know there is absolutely no way he is going to sit calm in the chair. He barely lets me brush his teeth so it won’t go smoothly I’m sure.

Not yet. The pediatrician just mentioned it so I'm gonna have to find her a dentist that takes her insurance first but I think its dumb. Shes gonna flip her shizz and they wont be able to do anything.

You are supposed to within 6 months of getting their first teeth/tooth. We are planning to take ours pretty soon. 😊

I couldn't imagine my son holding still in that chair. We brush his teeth religiously at home twice a day. We plan on taking him between 18 months to 2.

In Canada children are covered for free up till their teens I believe. So they recommend here to start at one or first tooth. To get them
Used to going to the dentist.
They hardly looked in her mouth and charged the government $100 bucks

I took mine at 11 months because of a spot on his tooth and if that wasn’t the case they really didn’t even want to see him until 3yrs old. Other than him looking at that there was nothing else and would honestly be pointless. At by 11 months he already had 8 teeth.
