IUD places yesterday!

So before getting my iud (Kyleena) I took to the internet to learn more about the device, the process, insertion etc... i overwhelmingly was met with horror stories and extremely painful experiences.

I want to share mine.

First of all I’m currently living in France ( from California) I never had or could afford health insurance before and never had an iud or any other birth control.

The price of my appointment and iud cost me around 100 euro, which is about 111$ (usd). I know that’s cheap/awesome!

So I have terrible endometriosis which is the main reason I decided on the whole thing, to lessen my heavy periods and especially cramps.

I was nervous going in because of the damn horror stories, but the whole process took about 30 seconds and hurt about as much as my lightest period cramp ever. I mean I hardly felt it to be honest... that being said, later that night my cramps (iwason my period as well) were preeetttyyyy f’ing awful. 😬 but then again they almost always are nearly that bad on my second day.

It’s the day after now and I’m totally back to feeling fine :).

Hope this helps to possibly ease someone’s mind before going in for an iud.🙂
