Is the saying once a cheater always a cheater true? 🧐

If you agree with people are always a cheater, can you explain as to why you believe it to be so?

I think if you were with someone who cheated on you and you stay, then there were no real consequences of their action and they will easily do it again. They were lacking something in the relationship, and went to find it. 
I dont think a person who has cheated in the past, will necessarily cheat on a new partner.

I say no because I was a cheater in some previous relationships. I did what I did for my own reasons. It wasn’t right but I did it nonetheless. It wasn’t always physical. Regardless, I’m not like that now and would never do those things again. So that is why I don’t believe “once a cheater always a cheater”

Not entirely. When my husband and I first starting dating he cheated on me after 4 months of dating and we broke up.. It was clear he wasn’t ready to settle down, which is fine. Not everybody is ready for commitment, although I think he should have ended things with me but it’s clear he wanted me in his life but just didn’t want to commit! We got back together 4 months later, worked on the relationship and just grew together. We grew as individuals and as a couple. He grew ready to settle down once he realized I was the woman he wanted to settle down with... 4 years later and he’s been nothing but faithful. People change. People grow up. Relationships grow. I think it honestly just depends on the people and the relationship. Everyone is different!

This is not true of everyone, but I think if you’re the kind of person that can completely disregard the feelings of the person you supposedly love, you’re the kind of person who is selfish enough to do it again. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been cheated on and I’ve been a cheater. Just because you’ve cheated doesn’t mean you’re doomed to cheat again. I was young, stupid, and selfish.  People learn, grow, and realize their flaws. Yes, some people may continue to cheat but others, like myself, understand why I cheated and worked to improve myself so I wouldn’t do it again.  
I’m happily married now and expecting my first with my husband and I can tell you after I realized my flaws and worked on me, I have been a faithful girlfriend and now wife. People can change, I did.
