Extended BF

I am still breastfeeding my girl at 8 and half months and today my mother asked me when I was planning to stop. I said until she’s ready to wean. If I make it to 2 I’d be so proud but at the moment, I’m hoping for at least 12 months. She said she disagrees with it because I need to allow other people to care for her and there aren’t really any benefits beyond 12 months. She didn’t really give any other reason other than that. Her opinion has upset me. I tried to tell her that actually BF gives comfort, helps with illnesses and is still nutritious beyond 12 months.... Didn’t sway her though. How do you handle people who are against extended breastfeeding?
