Would you prefer a proposal to be a surprise? 💍

Having a debate with my friend! What would you ladies prefer? What did your SO do when they proposed?

Mine was a surprise and I loved it! It was my birthday and my husband took me out for sushi. I thought it was just a special birthday dinner but then he took me to the beach where we had our first date and proposed. It was amazing!

I’m the odd women who did not want my husband to surprise me. I married and divorced my high school sweetheart at 19 and told myself if I ever remarried it would be a very serious decision. My husband one day just told me he was ready to settle down and get married whenever I was, so we discussed it and then picked out rings. He did officially get down on one knee and purpose in the privacy of our own apartment and it was perfect.

I said yes but at the same time, I snooped SO hard when my bf was planning to propose because I wanted to know everything at the time lol. I typically hate surprises a lot.

Yes but also no.
I think the conversation of marriage and engagement should definitely be had way before the actual proposal happens.
But other wise yes I'd want to be surprised for when it actually happens.

Absolutely not. And I would say no to anyone who surprise-proposed to me because obviously he doesn’t know me at all.

I JUST got engaged and it was somewhat of a surprise. My fiancé can’t hide anything from me 😂...I can read him like a book. But he was so sweet and put a lot of thought into it, I would NEVER let him know that I knew it was coming. 
My fiancé took me hiking (it’s one of my favorite things to do), and he got down on one knee at the top of the mountain. He waited until I turned around, called my name, and when I turned around he was on one knee. It was amazing and special!! We went out for a dinner celebration that night. It was a day I’ll never forget ❤️💍😍

I'm not engaged yet but I have a strong feeling that I will be soon because we're constantly talking about it. I would rather have it be a surprise 🤷‍♀️

I found out about the proposal and didn’t let him know that I knew until months afterwards. I knew about it for weeks and I still cried because it was so sweet. He had a book of pictures made and video chat my family in for the proposal.
