Should I make an emergency dental appointment ?

I was told I’d need to get a root canal done a few months ago but switched dentists because they were misleading about things and it made me uncomfortable. I had an appointment set for the 10th for the x-rays. But tonight I was flossing my teeth and a small part of one of my tooth chipped off when I pulled the flossed out. I’m so scared and don’t want to lose the tooth.

If there is no pain, then I think you can wait for your next appointment. But until then, avoid chewing on that tooth because part of its foundation is already gone so it’s not as strong. Get an xray to see if there is any infection under that tooth. If there is, get a root canal asap!

If you’re not in pain, you can wait until your appointment on the 10th. However, you can always call to see if they have an earlier non-emergency opening available for you to move to. 
If you had x-rays taken at your old office a few months ago, you may want to look into having them sent to your new office. Depending on the type of x-ray, your insurance may only cover it once per year, so the new ones may be out of pocket.

Just make an appointment. You have to go to the dentist, yeah. Sooner the better but i don’t think it has to be an *emergency* appointment because you chipped a tooth. It happens. I don’t think your at risk for loosing your tooth. Btw, I needed 2 root canals... my teeth didn’t fall out, and I dealt with excruciating infections in my teeth for a few weeks before the procedure. So, especially if you don’t have pain... I really don’t think your in an emergency situation.
