Coconut oil hair mask

I want to start doing hair masks with coconut because my hair gets super dry and frizzy in the winter but I don’t know how to wash it out

I personally feel like if I were to put coconut oil in my hair for a mask I would put it in for a certain amount of time and then I’d use conditioner to rinse it out (or nothing) and then wait a couple days (1-2) to wash my hair with shampoo because I feel like shampooing you’re hair right after doing the mask completely defeats the purpose of doing the mask

But I have no idea.... what do you think???
