Seven Week Surprise!

We went in for the first US today 7w0d. This is my second pregnancy so I was calm and confident going into the appt, hoping for a glimpse at a little heartbeat! Immediately the US tech asked if we conceived naturally, and moved the wand around struggling to land on a shot of the baby. I started to feel a little nervous. But then she landed on not one, but TWO sacs!! My husband and I started cracking up, we were totally shocked! She was able to get the heartbeats of two little nuggets! I have twins in my family (a cousin on my mom’s side) and I’m a bit older (36) so this was always a possibility, but definitely not something we were expecting for a second baby!! The news is still sinking in and throughout the day new realities of having twins started to hit us. We are excited but super scared of going from a family of 3 to 5 next year!
