Mil says she won’t accept adopted child

My husband and I have two bio children, but, would like to foster. Our main goal in fostering is for the children to return home. But, we have decided if one of our placements is up for adoption we would do it in a heart beat.

His mother is horrified. Saying she can’t believe we would do this. Reminding us she would never see them as equal to her bio children. That we are ruining our children by exposing them to the filth of the town.

🙄 I’ve tried to educate her. I’ve tried to remind her this is out of love. Most of these cases are parents trying to do better.

Anyways. Just curious if anyone has been in this situation? What helped? What didn’t?
