Is she being ridiculous?

I'm 22, my partner is 29, and I've got an almost two year old from another relationship. He has been nothing but kind to me and my family ever since we've been together. He adores my son, has done many things to help or assist my family, and is such a funny person. I just got out of the hospital after being there a few days and he stayed with me the whole time. He also paid for my prescriptions afterwards even though he didn't need to.

And yet my mom hates his guts? The fuck. I don't need her approval but I do wish she would try to like him. My ex did a horrible thing to me and it seems like she has decided to hate anyone I want to be with. He just wants my family to like him and she is making it impossible. He literally has done NOTHING negative the entire time we've been together. I'm not even saying that either, I've been very logical and cautious about this relationship after the last one.

My mom is one of my biggest sources of comfort and support so this is kind of killing me, navigating this. Am I in the wrong here for thinking that she's projecting her feelings from my previous relationship?
