Lazy Boyfriend

I feel annoyed because I always end up washing his dishes. My boyfriend and I have this “If you cook dinner, I’ll wash the dishes” thing...and somehow, I always end up washing his dishes. I cook AND I was our dishes.

Don’t get me wrong, he cleans the house every couple of weeks (but I clean the house too), sometimes he does the laundry (I mostly do the laundry).

I do 98% of the cooking.

We both work full time jobs (40 hrs a week), and we both come home tired from work. If we have dishes in the sink, he never initiated to start cleaning them himself. I always end up clearing up the sink otherwise no dishes will be put away.

I have talked to him about this multiple times. After multiple times I’ve mentioned this to him and asked him for help, I started to lose my patience and get mad...So I would start telling him in a firm tone. Now that it was been MANY times this has been mentioned, I kinda raise my voice. It feels like he does not take me seriously because it keeps happening again, and again, and again....and again.

How much patience does he expect me to have? I’ve asked him for help, I argued with him for help, and now I’m mad because he always says, “Yes, I’ll do the dishes.” And it always ends up like this where he does them, then slowly and gradually slacks off until I AM THE ONE cleaning everything in the kitchen again!

He can come home and sit and wind down, yet I come home, fix us dinner AND THEN do the dishes? I’m so mad.

Cooking for him and then watching him just leave the dishes on the table or watching him just dump the dishes into the sink without even rinsing them to place them in the dishwasher is like a slap in the face. It’s like a “You cook for me and clean up after me” kind of bullshit.

I don’t know what to do anymore.
