Just curious what this means to you at a wedding

AxelMomma143

I was at a wedding reception and people kept clinking the glasses. My boyfriend and I kept looking around waiting for a speech from someone. But no one stood up or said anything. So I leaned to the couple next to us and asked them why people keep clinking the glasses if no one is going to speak. I was told that every time someone does that with their glass, the newly weds are supposed to kiss. I’ve never heard of that before. So would you think the clinking of the glasses was for a speech or kissing?

Not that I’m arguing either way. Just wondering.
