Struggling to figure out what to text back

Am I the only one who struggles to text people back? And I don’t mean struggle with finding time, I actually struggle with figuring out what to say, especially when I’m texting my sons friends parents or people I don’t really know. I take so long just trying to figure out how to reply even if it’s such a simple message. I hate it. I feel like my social skills are going downhill, I used to have no issue talking to people and carrying on conversation but now I just struggle so much
