Am I in the wrong?

So I’ve been wanting to get a new tattoo or piercing recently. I’m 18, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t.

I was talking to my boyfriend about it a few weeks ago and he said he would be okay with it if I got my nostril pierced but not my septum. I was okay with that, I wanted my nostril done more anyway. He even offered to take me in January and pay for it.

Well, I didn’t want to wait and I didn’t want him to pay for it. So I went and got my left nostril pierced today. I think it looks cute. I didn’t tell him I was going beforehand, I just kind of went because it was a spurr of the moment thing.

Well when I told him, he said he was upset. I asked why and he just kept saying “idk” and when I reminded him he said he was okay with it, he said “ik”. He won’t tell me why he’s upset. I don’t understand. It looks cute, there’s no reason I can’t have it, and he said he was okay with it.

Did I do something wrong? I’m so confused and I feel so bad now because I wasn’t thinking about how he would feel, I just impulsively went and got it done. Like I was at Walmart, decided I wanted to get it, and 10 minutes later I got it done (at a tattoo parlor, not Walmart lol).
