Babe scratching her face while sleeping

We aren't doing anything differently, but my girl has recently started REALLY scratching up her face while she sleeps. She's never had this problem before.

We keep her nails as short as we can. I'd really rather not have her in scratch mittens when she should be learning to use her hands, and she's rolling both tummy-to-back and back-to-tummy (so no swaddle and no Merlin suit). It seems like every other day I wake up to find her with a big gouge on her forehead or temple ☹️

Tips or tricks? Or do we just have to ride it out while she figures out how to not scratch herself up?
