Overtime

So my boyfriend’s boss isn’t the best. He refuses to schedule anybody over time so he doesn’t have to pay them extra. It’s December, and he literally sent an email to all of his workers saying he will refuse anybody who asks for time off this month, and everybody is to work; Nobody’s allowed to request a day off or call out. Well my boyfriend got scheduled to work 56 hours at a different store, and I’m just confused. Why would my boyfriend tell me his boss refuses to schedule anybody overtime, then he gets scheduled overtime? If his boss doesn’t pay for the extra hours, we’re going to have a problem. We have rent to pay, and my boyfriend barely gets any hours as it is.

I constantly tell my boyfriend that his boss sounds shady as fuck and he’s screwing over all his workers 😒 he’ll hire people from his home country, then fly them out to work at his stores? What he’s doing just sounds shady. I don’t know all the details right off the bat, but my boyfriend has explained it to me in full, and it honestly sounds like a front or something
